Sinking Ship...SOS

Oh Dear!
Budget blown to pieces...

After all outgoings we should have had about £700 left to play with and eat with and put towards our flights...

I was doing so well for the last few months, we didn't go out, we didn't eat crap, we didn't shop at the supermarket, we didn't buy petrol...

Then comes the 2 weekends planned for us by friends, before we knew we were leaving.

Weekend 1...

* The Festival, thank God we didn't pay for the tickets!
* Over £100 spent at Sainsbury's to replenish Mum's fridge, buy picnic food, essentials such as muffins and yum yums and strawberries.
* Over £100 cash taken out and disappeared into the oblivion of crap festival food, yummy ice creams and generosity fueled by the sun.

Weekend 2 (hasn't even happened yet)...

* A sponsored run/walk in London for the charity Tommy's, (research into why babies are born premature) Our good friends have had 2 prem babies, one baby boy who died earlier this year and one beautiful 3 year old boy.
* £15 entry fee.
* £37.50 coach tickets
* £64 train tickets
* I guess I'll have to sponsor myself too
No doubt more unexpected costs...

More unexpected visa news, good news, but more money to find, another £355 to add to our collection of bills!

Overtime over! So only a basic pay coming in September, the last one...

Oh Dear, Oh dear, what to do?

Bring on the simplicity, does anyone know where I left it?

Oh no! Sounds like you had a blast at the festival though. And I suppose at least you can think to yourself that the money spent on the charity walk is going to a fantastic cause, and you're not just frittering your money away on shoes and things.

xx

Don't let it get to you, Emma. It happens to all of us sometimes but you've been doing really well and everybody deserves a little fun now and then.

We've all done it Emma and it sounds like you had a great weekend with your friends
How many weeks do you have now, before you go?

Umm... no Kel you haven't!

I think I have neglected to tell anyone anything yet, possibly because we haven't really got a clue ourselves!!

Ok I guess I had better sit down and write a 'tell it how it is' kind of post....detail? What detail? Does a pin in a map count?

I did it!

Wow that was really theraputic... I'm not a 'writing it down kind of girl', but thanks Kel, that really helped justify in my mind what we are really doing...
