That kind of reminds me of our visit to Marrakech (Morocco). The donkey's would race through the narrow streets pulling their carts behind them so people would have to jump out of the way and at busy intersections it'd be a bit of a free for all between the donkeys and cars. It was like stepping into a different world - a wonderful, if somewhat strange (to us), world.
