Boxes...

Saturday 27 September 2008

My life is in boxes...

I have a friend, who is frugal, tight, bossy, organised, loud and emotioness...

She came to our house yesterday with her husband after a two week holiday to Mexico feeling jet lagged, but she had already cooked dinner and washed up from the night before, done all her washing and hung it up to dry and looked fabulous in full make up and pretty clothes.

We had no dinner prepared, washing up from days before, place a mess and nothing to offer as refreshments. Boxes all over the place and no idea how to send them for the cheapest price, safest journey and least hassle since we don't have a car.

To cut a long story short, my frugal, tight, bossy, organised, loud and emotioness friend made a plan A, B, C, D and then E, after 8 hours and a headache and a gin and tonic, we finally booked our boxes to be picked up door to door, at a third of our original quote, paid online and then found out the airline carrier was the same as the original quote anyway!!

I love my friend... she is an angel... we're happy now.

I won't be around much for the next few days, too busy, moving out on Tuesday. Have a lovely weekend x

Can you please send your friend here??

When are you moving? I'm confused, are you going to India sooner? I thought you were headed to South Africa? Sorry, after my hectic 3 weeks I'm a bit lost!!

Frugal, we're going home for a few weeks, then to India when we finally get our passports back.... I can't go to s africa though Id love to, I'm hinting at Jade to make it India...then I could make it x

Lizzie I will help you with anything you need but it will be in a few days time, because i'm too stressed right now! Let me know the file type of the template i.e .xml then i'll write you some instructions...

Sorry Lizzie, I forgot to answer your q...

We used http://intercargo.co.uk/

Door to door UK to Bombay... 130kg for £277, in 10 days.
Virgin quoted about £650 airport to airport and the Indian shop down the road would have been £160 but he couldn't guarantee when it would get there, maybe 2 months maybe 3, maybe not at all!

It pays to have a bossy friend...

Thanks Jack and Laura x
